Client type: Local HVAC contractor (residential heating and cooling services)

Focus areas: Local SEO, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)

Client Background

The client is a residential HVAC company serving multiple towns in their metro area. Before our engagement, the website was outdated in structure, missing key pages, and not optimized for how people search today, including AI powered search and local map results.

The Challenge

When we started, we found several problems that were limiting the client from getting found and from converting the traffic they already had:

  • No dedicated pages for individual service areas, so the site could not compete for hyper local searches
  • Missing or incomplete structured data, which made it harder for search engines and AI systems to understand and surface the business correctly
  • Contact form was silently failing to deliver leads to the client’s email, meaning real leads were lost without anyone knowing
  • Service pages had weak or no CTAs, and lacked any social proof to build trust
  • Keyword targeting was limited to generic, high competition terms only, with no strategy for easier to win, high intent local searches

What We Did

Local pages and structured data

We built out missing service area pages and added FAQs for each area, written to match how real customers in that region actually search. We implemented proper structured data across service and location pages, to improve both traditional search visibility and how the business is represented in AI generated answers (GEO).

Technical and conversion fixes

We identified and fixed the contact form email delivery issue, so submitted leads actually reach the client’s inbox. We also added clear CTA buttons across service pages to guide visitors toward calling or requesting a quote.

User experience cleanup

We simplified landing pages by removing excessive, low value content and trimmed the link clutter in the main navigation, making it easier for users to find what they need and easier for search engines to understand site structure.

Trust and social proof

We added social proof elements, such as reviews and trust signals, directly on service pages, closer to the point of decision.

Keyword strategy

Beyond targeting the obvious, high competition head terms, we researched and identified low competition, high intent keyword opportunities that were realistic to rank for and still relevant to real customer demand.

Outcome

With these fixes in place, the client now has a properly structured local footprint, working lead capture, and pages built for both traditional and AI driven search. The technical and structural foundation is now solid, and ongoing work is focused on expanding local content and monitoring rankings and lead volume as the new pages mature.
